Java Jazz Festival 2009

The 5th Edition Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2009 was such a bomb! It was different from the previous Java Jazz Festival. With more musicians from local and international that actually came from many kinds of genres + tickets = catch the attention from many people in Indonesia and also from international. The Java Jazz Festival it self had became an icon for tourism in Indonesia. Hopefully the next Java Jazz will pull many more attention from another country to ‘Enjoy Jakarta” and “Visit Indonesia”. Yes,Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival apparently has been perceived as a great commodity for "Enjoy Jakarta" program from our local government of Jakarta and from our central government for “visit Indonesia” program.

These 3 days festival presented so many tremendous jazz and other Indonesia musicians that came from various genres such as RAN, Tompi, Tohpati, Slank (rock band that performed in Jazz), Afgan, Benny Mustafa Van Diest, Ecoutez, Glenn Fredly, Idang Rasjidi,Maliq n DEssentials, RAN, and so many more.

Off course
there are also international jazz and other musicians. The 5th Java Jazz Festival 2009 has successfully presented so many international musicians that came from all over the world. There are Jason Mraz, Bryan Mcknight, Toku, Veronica Nunn, Stefano Bollani, Roy Ayers, Ron King and The Big Band, Peabo Bryson, Laura Fygi, Matt Bianco, Prasanna (India), Moon Arra (India), Quasimode (Japan), Cristian Cuturuffo Quinteto (Chili), I Visionary (Italy), Gary Anthony, New York Voices, and so many more. I came only in the second day of Java Jazz, which is on Saturday. Yeah…I spent most of money to see Mr. Mraz performance (my sister who actually paid the tickets… ;D ). It was so different from last year that seems to be an exclusive program for certain kinds of people, Jazz lovers.

This year was presented more to all of us who loves music. With lots of musicians that perform in the mixture of genres + cheaper tickets, it catched an enormous attention from everywhere. It became such an entertainment in this phase of economic crisis. More than 10.000 people came everyday just to see their favorites. The euphoria was magnetized by the various types of music genres blended under the theme of Jazz and it came up with astonishing sounds. One thing for sure…I became a big fan of this festival and I definitely will come next year, and the next year, and the next year….

PS: I'm sorry for my grammar...I'm still working on it . ^0^
